CESDA - WHAT DO WE DO?
Listed below are some of the events that CESDA organizes throughout the year with the generous help of its membership. If you would like to participate in any of the events, please contact anyone from the CESDA Executive Board for more information.
Produce the CESDA Directory. Approx. 9000 are distributed to High School Juniors and Seniors throughout the state of Colorado. These are also distributed to all high school counselors in the state as a ready reference tool on the college process.
Visit over 100 high schools throughout Colorado in the spring. Our target is high school juniors and seniors. We deliver the CESDA presentation on the college process and disseminate information on different colleges throughout Colorado.
Produce the Pre-college/Supportive Services Directory. This directory lists all the Pre-college/supportive services fairs throughout the year. It is distributed to all CESDA members and high school counselors in Colorado as a tool when speaking to students.
Host an annual Scholarship banquet to produce funds for the Gilbert Martinez Scholarship Fund. Approximately ten $500 scholarships are given out to Colorado Seniors who will be attending a Colorado Institution.
Produce a fall and spring newsletter called "The Perspective". This is distributed to all high school counselors in the state as well as CESDA members.
Host 3 quarterly meetings as well as an Annual Conference in June to come together as a organization to discuss issues that may effect our institutions and students in higher education.
